Bohemian Impressions

Be transported to ancient 'Bohemia' with the Haags Studenten Symfonie Orkest on Sunday, December 17 in the beautiful Paleiskerk in The Hague. Led by conductor Arne Visser, we will play masterpieces by Smetana and Dvorak, among others, full of Bohemian splendor and passion. Buy your tickets now and experience old Bohemia.

We will play the following works:

  • “Moldau,” Bedřich Smetana's most famous work, dedicated entirely to the history, landscape and legends of Bohemia. A musical journey from its two source rivers, through Prague and finally to its mouth in the Elbe River.

  • “Silent Woods for Cello and Orchestra” by Antonin Dvorak, with soloist Elena Schmider. This original piano work, part of “From the Bohemian Forest,” is arranged for cello and orchestra.

  • The “Hungarian Dance No. 1”. by Johannes Brahms, a lively and energetic dance based on Hungarian folklore.

  • “Symphony No. 6” by Antonin Dvorak, a compelling composition that reflects the soul of the landscape and people.
